Rape. A disgusting act to carry out!

Not the Victim,it’s the Rapist’s fault.

They’ll never get past it, the nights they were raped,
it’s part of them now, how they were shaped.
They can’t get justice, it’s been too long,
but it’s not their fault, the rapist was wrong.
One of these days, they hope to heal,
one of these days, they’ll get him for real.
Now that we know, we know the truth,
so finally, they’ll drop the pretense of youth.
They’re not the little preys anymore , who were raped on the floor,
They promise themselves, they’re not the victims anymore.

The Quarantine is hard, believe it or not, sitting idle at home is not something extremely enjoyable or easy. Now,we’ve all been on social media for the better half of the day,and just imagine how surprised I was ,when I came across a LEGITIMATE news about a Rape Case that happened right now, during the Corona Virus isolation. I mean even when we are under lock down, and there is hardly anyone on the streets ,you expect it to be safer than usual (besides the virus ) ,but then you get news of rape in the isolation wards. So,I guess it is true, WE ARE NOT SAFE ANYWHERE.

Recovering from sexual assault takes time, and the healing process can be painful. But you can regain your sense of control, rebuild your self-worth, and learn to heal.Sexual violence is shockingly common in our society.. And sexual assault isn’t limited to women; many men and boys suffer rape and sexual trauma each year. Now that we are talking about it,Yes, men are raped too,it’s just that not many cases are coming up,some too scared about out image, some blackmailed, and some under pressure.
Regardless of age or gender, the impact of sexual violence goes far beyond any physical injuries. The trauma of being raped or sexually assaulted can be shattering, leaving you feeling scared, ashamed, and alone or plagued by nightmares, flashbacks, and other unpleasant memories. The world doesn’t feel like a safe place anymore. You no longer trust others. You don’t even trust yourself. You may question your judgment, your self-worth, and even your sanity. You may blame yourself for what happened or believe that you’re “dirty” or “damaged goods.” Relationships feel dangerous, intimacy impossible. And on top of that, like many rape survivors, you may struggle with PTSD, anxiety, and depression.

It is troubling enough that such a small proportion of reported rapes make it to court, worse still that so few victims come forward in the first place. But most disturbing of all is the reason why so many people keep their suffering to themselves: because they do not think they will be believed. That rape is still a dirty secret, hedged about with so much blame and shame that victims feel they cannot come forward, is testament to how far we still have to go.
There are, of course, great legal difficulties in rape trials. Sexual assault is one of the few crimes where proof lies not in the physical facts of the matter, but in the subjective intentions of those involved. One person’s word against another’s, with no corroborating witnesses, is highly problematic for a legal system predicated on the concepts of innocent until proven guilty and proof beyond reasonable doubt.

Rape is not something small, it is not the victims fault, and it definitely isn’t something that we shouldn’t fight against.
